Introduction

My name is Etienne Bernard. I was born on september 19, 1974 at Beaumont, near the town of Clermont-Ferrand, in the center of France, where I lived a little more than 13 years before moving to Sophia-Antipolis (French Riviera), then to Paris and its suburbs.

I spent two years studying in the Lycée Charlemagne (Paris) for the preparation classes to the french engineering schools' competitive examination, then I went to the Ecole Centrale Paris, and finaly to ISIA (Institut Supérieur d'Informatique et d'Automatique). So, I graduated from two french engineering schools, and I am specialized in computer science.

As an ISIA student, I had to do a 14 monthes internship at the end of my studies. I have done mine at Grey Interactive France. I was hired by this company after the army.

Computer science

Computer science is my job, but it's also a hobby. During my studies, I had the opportunity to be involved in the activites of the association VIA - Centrale Réseaux, which manages the students' computer network. I like to program too. The languages I use are C, C++, and a little bit of Java.

When I don't know what to program, I write an IRC bot... I have written the bobot with Hugo. Then, I have written another one to learn C++, the bobot++. I also have written one in Java, but I am not proud enough of it to show it :-).

I have also participated to ippl, a intrusion detection tool. I have written the configuration system part (using Lex and Yacc), and participated in the rewriting of ippl version 2.0.

I have written a little introduction to the use of Lex and Yacc, which are tools designed to help writing compilers and interpreters.
